Galley, Stove and Cabinet, Part 8: Epoxy for Balsa Core Countertop

Most people associate epoxy work on balsa core material with the deck of a sailboat, where water is likely to seep beneath the deck hardware and into the balsa core material beneath the deck where it causes this balsa core to rot. On my Ericson 25 there was balsa core rot, if you can believe it, in some parts of countertop where the the original stove had sat. I, therefore, had to dig out the rot and fill the void with thickened epoxy. While I was at it I dug out the rest of the balsa around the perimeter and filled the space with the same thickened epoxy.
