Portlights, Part 7: Compounding and Polishing the Gel-Coat

I used Presta Ultra Cutting Creme to bring the oxidized cabin top up to a glossy shine.

Before I did this compounding, I removed the old caulk residue with a chisel.

Bar Keeper's Friend (oxalic acid) and a Scotch-Brite pad did a good job on any stains I encountered prior to the compounding job.

The end result of all this cleaning and compounding.

Portlights, Part 4: Cleaning the Glass

Baking soda and vinegar did not work.

Acetone did not work.

Bar Keeper's Friend and Scotch Brite pads were the only things that were able to remove the water stains from the glass.
