Galley, Stove and Cabinet, Part 5: Backsplash Mock-ups

I wanted to protect the electrical system.

My first thought was to make plywood backsplashes that I could slip into place when needed and then quickly stow out of the way when not.

While doing this, I experimented with the new stove to see how much heat would be generated in the area around the stove.

I didn't like it that a rigid backsplash would obstruct the LED light behind the stove.

I eventually hit upon the idea of of using a cloth of some sort to protect the electrical system, especially because most of the heat generated by the stove moved upward and not outward. The cloth would simply help to protect the electrical from vapor and occasional splatters.
