Hatch, Forward, Part 6: Varnishing the Frame

Australian timber oil. I applied this to the teak in an effort to restore some oil to the wood that had been lost over some forty years of exposure to the elements.

The teak quickly absorbed the oil. I let the hatch sit undisturbed for several months.
The surface did not have an oily feel to it. Therefore, I concluded that it would be safe to varnish it.
I carried out this varnish work at the same time I was varnishing many other pieces.
